W.K.Hasleden

The pioneer of the daily topical comic strip in the British newspapers. Although no great adventurer in visual terms, he does try to develop beyond the Caran D'Ache format, using the grid of six images, with the occasional variant. These examples are taken from Daily Mirror Reflections for 1916, published by Pictorial Newspaper Co., Ltd., 1916, each page measuring 16 x 21 cms. They don't enlarge.
