Scottish artist and wood-engraver trained at the Glasgow School of Art but worked mainly in London after studying wood engraving with Gertrude Hermes and Blair Hughes Stanton. Her first major work was an edition of Aesop for the Gregynog Press (1932) for which her husband William McGance had been apopointed Controller. Prolific and commercial successful, she illustrated Hardy (Tess of the D'Urbervilles,The Mayor of Catserbridge, The Return of the Native for the New York Limited Editions Club) and had two major successes from texts by H.E.Bates, Through the Woods (1936) , and Down the River (1937).

Her personal papers are held by the National Library of Scotland and the definitive work on her is Ian Rogerson's The Wood Engravings of Agnes Miller Parker.
