FOR JAYNE

3 DECEMBER 2024

Good Morning Jayne

A few days on from the Chemo and it has been
a most interesting, painless and amusing experience.

I am entranced and terrified at the same time
of the Theatre of the Human Body.
The care, the affection, the regime of pills,
self administered injections, the paperwork
charts, and I will spare you further details.

It did help that Jac Batey went through the same regime as me
recently, a matter of white blood cells and an inner war.

Just before I went in, she sent me that wise advice
that included if you need the loo, then you take the
drip machine with its tubes and plugs on wheels with you
being careful not to go too fast.

I am back for the next much shorter gig on 18 December
a check up and replenishment of the Full Load.
4 more shorter visits after that up until March.

I wear a mask when outside the front door
and must wash my hands every 17 minutes because
I am now more open to passing germs. No family at Christmas.
Our chats sadly go on hold, and I am sorry.

I am keeping myself distracted by Instagram posts (6 a day)
which have more commentary. And downloading
from Wikimedia Commons for The Visual Telling of Stories.

Odd that my concentration lapses in the evenings
and I am not watching the films I thought I would be.
We watched 'Tell No One' a few days ago
and it was so impressive.

Ben will soon be home, perhaps running all the way

so cheers to you all

your old but stable pal

Chris

xx
