Hilaire Belloc's Cautionary Verses were illustrated
by Nicholas Bentley and his old school friend BTB, in an album edition
in 1940, measuring 16 x 21cms.
Typical of the relationship between text and image, the perverse narratives
and the variations of drawing are two stories -
Henry King (from Cautionary Tales for Children), and
The Garden Party (from another publication Ladies and Gentlemen)
here also is "William Shand"
and an extra drawing by Bentley from Ladies and Gentlemen
